Dr. Sevil Öz was born in 1963 in Istanbul. She graduated from Izmir Kiz Lisesi in 1980 and from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 1986 with the highest degree. She has done her residency in General Surgery Department of Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty of Istanbul University. Between 1983-1986, she was a guest student in Giessen Justus Liebig University-Germany and in Aberdeen and Dundee Royal Infirmary - Scotland. Between 1988-1989, she worked as a registrar in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

After completing her compelled service in Luleburgaz State Hospital, in 1994, she worked as medical director and general surgeon for a year in Taksim German Hospital. In 1995, she was transferred to International Hospital Istanbul as general surgeon and ER chief. In International Hopital, she worked in different executive management positions and as general surgeon till 2005. Through out this period, she specialised in breast diseases and anorectal diseases. As the leader of the HQS accreditation project, she enabled the hospital to receive the accreditation certificate.

In the year 2005, she was transferred to Hisar Intercontinental Hospital to participate the set-up process as the Quality Coordinator and General Surgeon. She established the breast surgery clinic. Working with JCI, she enabled the hospital to receive the accreditation certificate.

In 2003, 2005 and 2006, she has been in USA Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital several times as a Visiting Doctor in Breast Surgery Clinic and Anorectal Surgery Clinic and had the opportunity to work with the top doctors of America. In 2005, she received training in "hemorrhoids treatment with LASER" in 2005 and "the technique of sentinel lymph node in breast cancer treatment" in 2006.

Between September 2007-February 2009, she worked as the General Director and General Surgeon in Dr.Pakize Tarzi Hospital. Since February 2009, she has been seeing her patients in Nisantasi Doctors Center.
